Dispelling the myths of the
sinking of the Titanic

Speaker: Tim Maltin

Monday 23rd Februrary 2026

(Doors open from 7:00pm)

Since its sinking in 1912, dozens of myths and
conspiracy theories have circulated about The Titanic –
from the actions of crew and passengers, to how the
tragedy could have been avoided. Titanic expert Tim
Maltin will separate fact from fiction. Tim Maltin is a British author, historian and TV presenter. He is also one of the world’s leading experts on the Titanic and the author of three books on the subject. He co-wrote and presented with Jeremy Vine the landmark and award-winning BBC Radio 2 live broadcast, Titanic, minute by Minute. Tim works in London and lives in Wiltshire with his wife and two children.
